Companies Using Prometheus

10,698 companies are actively hiring Prometheus talent across 131 countries.

Prometheus is the open-source metrics and alerting system that most teams running containerized, Kubernetes-based infrastructure use to scrape time-series data from services and fire alerts when something breaks. A company hiring for Prometheus is operating cloud-native workloads in production and owns its own monitoring pipeline rather than fully outsourcing it. That usually means it also needs dashboards (Grafana), log aggregation (Loki), long-term metrics storage, incident management and on-call tooling.

Buying Signal

Prometheus hiring signals a team that has outgrown basic monitoring and is wrestling with scale problems: metric cardinality, retention, federation across clusters and alert fatigue. These companies are candidates for managed Prometheus-compatible backends, or for a consolidation pitch from commercial observability platforms that ingest Prometheus metrics. A sales rep at a managed observability vendor should target companies where DevOps Engineer roles mention Prometheus alongside Kubernetes, since that pairing points to self-hosted stacks with growing operational cost.

Market Signal

With 10,698 companies hiring across 131 countries, Prometheus is a mainstream default rather than a niche choice, and the United States alone accounts for 3,776 of those companies. IT Services and IT Consulting (3,437) and Software Development (2,153) dominate, but 857 Financial Services firms show demand reaching regulated enterprises with strict uptime and audit requirements.

Stack Intelligence

Prometheus rarely runs alone: Grafana visualizes its metrics, Kubernetes is the environment it most often monitors, and Loki extends the same model to logs. When Datadog appears in the same hiring profile, the company is often running a hybrid of open-source and commercial monitoring, which signals either a migration in progress or tool sprawl worth consolidating. Sellers can treat the Prometheus-Grafana-Kubernetes combination as a marker of a mature platform engineering function with budget for infrastructure tooling.

How this page is built

echoloc compiles technology-adoption signals from public hiring and company data — career pages, public listings, and company web presence — then clusters and de-duplicates them into the summary above. Figures are estimates that refresh over time. Read our full methodology →

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Prometheus?

Prometheus is an open-source monitoring system that collects time-series metrics from applications and infrastructure and triggers alerts on defined thresholds. It is a standard for observability in Kubernetes and microservices environments. A company hiring for it is running cloud-native systems in production and investing in its own reliability engineering.

Why should sales teams track Prometheus hiring?

Prometheus hiring identifies companies with live cloud-native infrastructure and in-house operations teams, a precise filter for infrastructure and DevOps sellers. For example, an incident-management vendor can target firms posting DevOps Engineer roles that mention Prometheus, since those teams already generate alerts that need routing, escalation and on-call scheduling.

Who should be selling to companies that use Prometheus?

Managed observability and Prometheus-compatible storage vendors, commercial APM platforms, incident-response and on-call tools, and Kubernetes or cloud consulting firms are best positioned to sell into Prometheus users.
